Allons Travel — A six month checkup

Summer is my favorite time of year. Barbecues, outdoor symphony concerts, movies under the stars, block parties and family reunions are times to relax , kickback and restore my sanity. The days are long,   the weather heats up and schedules loosen up.  Summer is also a good time to give yourself a 6 month check up to see where you are, where you’ve been and where you need to go.

Growing up in a farming community I observed famers working feverishly in the summer to plant their crops, tend to them and reap the harvest in the fall. As a travel professional I see parallels between the farmer and myself. I need to plant seeds, tend to them so they grow and reap the rewards. Summer is a great time for me to get back to the basics–to plant seeds. For me the seeds are the message I need to get across? Who do I want to hear my message? How do I get it across. It’s getting back to the basics.  The first thing I have done is take a look at my website and will fine tune it or start all over. I have committed to start the blog I have been putting off. I am reworking both my business and marketing plans as they keep evolving.  And last but not least, I  am adding more training and tools to my arsenal.   Going forward, I need to assess what software needs to be updated or purchased, what gadgets or tools will need top be acquired to make my life easier and allow me to operate more efficiently. Like the Ant and the Grasshopper, you can’t rest when there is work to be done. By giving myself a needed check up, tweaking and fine tuning things, I will be prepared for more successes come the fall.
