What new things are you going to learn today?

What new things are you going to learn today?

Knowledge is vital in today’s business world. If I walked up to you and asked you that question what would your answer be?  Do you even have an answer? Many times that is the challenge. We want to learn, but are not sure what it is we want to learn. Now is a good time to make that list.

Your list can include business, physical, economic, personal, spiritual, and many other segments of your life. I just watched the movie “The Bucket List” again, and was reminded of how people wait until time seems limited to make a list of things to do, learn, and experience.

Don’t wait. Make learning a life-long goal. No matter what area you decide to focus your eduction, other areas of your life will be affected as well. Five years ago I became an Apple fan and bought my first Macbook. I decided to take advantage of  Apple’s One-to-One personal classes for one year. This made such a difference in how I understand and use my Mac for business and personal use. It also reminded me of what it felt like to be a student.

In what areas do you need to grow in order to grow your business? What do you want to learn that will enhance your business? Today, the opportunities are easy and affordable—if not free! You can start with books, online courses, webinars, conferences, conventions, and mentors; or you can go back to college or get coaching from a professional. There really is no valid excuse if you are committed to learning.

Look around and see what opportunities exist to help your business. They are everywhere and it is a process of becoming a life-long learner. I do want to point out that being a life-long learner does not mean being a life-long student.

Even students graduate and apply what they learn. And this should apply to you as well.  Continue to learn, grow, experience but don’t forget the final step called application.

It is like learning to scuba dive in a swimming pool and never going into the ocean.  The whole idea of education is to put your feet in the water and apply what you’ve learned.

So, let’s revisit I repeat my first sentence, “what new things are going to learn today?” What are you going to add to your list. Leave a comment and let me know!
