History
In the 1970s, our founder, Pall Kapoor, was a student in Washington, D.C. To make some extra money, he began buying and reselling airline tickets within his native Indian community. He soon found that this part-time means of serving his community had the potential for a full-time business.
In 1980, Pall opened Trans American Travel (later changed to Trans Am Travel) in Alexandria, Virginia to serve the Washington Metropolitan area. United Airlines was the first to take a chance on the then little-known company. The airline provided Trans Am Travel with its first Consolidator contract for discounted airfares in the Asian market.
Today, Trans Am Travel is not only one of United Airlines largest consolidators, but we are also the only agency to possess all of United Airlines’ consolidator contracts, including Asia, Europe, Latin America and the South Pacific. Trans Am Travel is now partnered with 72 different airlines, including Northwest/KLM, Lufthansa, Continental, Air France, Qantas and more. Through these airlines, Trans Am Travel is able to offer more than 12 million discounted net fares to our customers.

Trans Am Travel provides a competitive advantage through its customer-driven advanced technology solutions, such as Trippro, an online booking engine that compiles net and commissionable fares from four different consolidators. It features an easy-to-read layout and is integrated with the GDS systems.
Trippro has a +3/-3 fare calendar, which allows customers to search for the best travel dates within a given week. Agents using Trippro can customize their searches using filters such as Airline, Duration, and Number of Stops. Every search yields over 200 fare results. Trippro makes it easy to create unique and complex travel itineraries in real-time.
