Priceless Cruising – signing off

I can’t believe this year is already coming to an end … and what a year it has been for Priceless Cruising! Since I quit my other part-time job in June of 2014, I’ve been able to concentrate my efforts on my cruise business and it has really paid off!

By the end of this year, I will have doubled both my sales for the year as well as my commissions. And the best part is that I have now earned enough in commissions to qualify for a higher commission split for 2016!

As it sits, I already have more on the books for 2016 than I have ever had at this same time in years past, so it’s already looking like 2016 will be another banner year… it’s FINALLY working!!

So what made it all ‘work?’ At the beginning of 2015, I attended a Seminar at Sea with Mike Marchev, which truly gave me a good shot in the arm and some new tools. Thanks Mike! From there on, it was just a matter of applying the new tools as well as doing the things I knew needed to be done. Funny how ‘working the plan’ really gets results!

This a very weird industry. It is deemed glorious by many, yet in reality it is quite challenging, ever changing, and can be downright brutal at times. Hats off to all of us that still enjoy sending our clients on amazing trips in hopes they come home and say “Thank you – that was truly a trip of a lifetime.” After all, isn’t that what it’s all about?

By the time you read this post, I will be on another FAM trip in preparation for 2016. Although it will be tempting to just ‘enjoy’ the cruise, I do plan to work on my business by creating my 2016 business plan and setting new goals.

I wanted to thank Travel Research Online for the opportunity to be one of this year’s contributing writers to the Travel Agent Diaries series. This has been fun sharing bits and pieces of Priceless Cruising’s year with you. I hope you enjoyed my contributions and picked up something to either do or not do! If you would like to keep in touch, Priceless Cruising is on Facebook, or you can connect through my website, PricelessCruising.com. Again, thanks for reading and I hope to meet up with you at some industry function some time!
