Does Facebook Know You are a Travel Expert?

Facebook has been hard at work making some changes lately (no big surprise there, right?), but the good news is that some of them will be a great addition for service-based businesses such as travel professionals. You’ll want to check out this new Facebook update and make sure your business is ready to take advantage of this new opportunity to increase your visibility to new potential clients!

We’ve seen how Facebook is positioning themselves to be a “one stop shop” for a lot of areas, with changes to things like video content and the ability to basically share beautifully formatted blog-type posts on your personal profile. Well, they are getting ready to start competing with companies like Yelp or Google Places in terms of providing somewhere to search for service-based businesses and check out their ratings and reviews. This has the potential to be huge for travel professionals or anyone who runs a business where they sell their services and/or their expertise, rather than a physical product.

I recorded a quick video about this new feature and how to get your business ready to be found in the search options. It was shared on my Facebook page. Check it out (and join me over on Facebook if you haven’t already!):

They are also rolling out a “Services” tab that can be added to your Facebook page to highlight the available services you offer. Not everyone has access to this option just yet, but it is coming. Is this something you plan to take advantage of? Have any questions about it? If so, be sure to share them in the comments or hop on over to Facebook and post them there!
