Boomerang Escapes – Goodbye, onward and upward

It’s that time. Time to review. Time to make my 2017 business plan. Time for me to say farewell to you as my year of Travel Agent Diaries has come to a close.

I was a bit nervous last year when TRO contacted me to write. I was in the midst of a divorce which ended up catapulting to a major move. I decided to write to have my own accountability of where the year would go. With monthly deadlines and happy reminders from John each month, I was ‘forced’ to review what had taken place in my business. The good, the bad, and the ugly. In the end, the one thing I mentioned in the beginning still holds true.

Change is inevitable.  Whether it be something that happens in your personal life or the world, change will come. And those of us that carry on are the ones that learn to adapt and go with the flow. Like a branch floating down a river, we must go with the current. We adjust to the ever changing technology, clientele, and markets. We continue to float and thrive. Another amazing thing I discovered is if you put things, good things, in place, you don’t always have to be completely hands-on. The business will carry on; it’s ok to take a step back, breathe, and look from a higher ground, a different perspective, to see where you need to make adjustments.

I’ve truly enjoyed the journey and hate to have my diary come to a close. Maybe I will have to keep my own personal journal as we enter 2017.

I would love for any of you to reach out to me. I am always eager to help or share with others in the industry as I don’t see why we should constantly recreate the wheel. Whether you want to pick my brain or just chat, I’ve had a very interesting entrepreneurial journey thus far in the travel industry and my passion for travel, particularly to Australia is more than skin deep.   I do have a tour going September 2017 where I am offering a TA discount if you would like to experience “my happy place” first hand.

To keep in contact, you can find me on social media @boomerangescapes, or visit the web at www.boomerangescapes.com, or email me directly at lisa@boomerangescapes.com.   Wishing you all growth and profits in 2017!
