John Gunning, Sales Manager for Down Under Answers, Africa Answers, and Asia Answers
John Gunning, Sales Manager for Down Under Answers and the three different brands within the company, goes in depth about his experiences in the travel industry, the beautiful places it has taken him, and what he has learned along the way.
Growing up on a small country property in central west New South Wales (Australia) who knew what lay ahead when I packed my bags and headed off to London in 1998. This was to be the beginning of my love and dedication to travel.
Throughout the years I have held various positions in travel which have included Mini Bar Supervisor at St Martins Lane London, Reservations Specialist for the South Pacific and a Tour Guide for both AAT Kings and Contiki in Australia for 10 years. I now call Seattle, Washington home and have been part of Down Under Answers for 3 years.
Over the last 20 years I have been fortunate to have travelled the globe and had some amazing experiences from the top of Mt Kilimanjaro to skiing the slopes of Niseko in Japan. But the one place that will always be close to my heart is the South Pacific. It really has it all from the beauty of the Cook Islands, the allure of the mountains of New Zealand to the quintessential outback of Australia.
In my role as a Sales Manager for Down Under Answers I am fortunate to represent the three brands that make up this amazing company. That being Asia Answers, Africa Answers and Down Under Answers. The role is constantly evolving in a number of ways from monthly webinar training, trade shows, famil participation and day to day conversations with the travel agent community. This is both fulfilling and fun, as I am able to educate my travel agent colleagues on the fascinating and unique destinations that we sell.
My experiences have given me a firm belief that I can help create unique and memorable experience for those looking at travelling abroad (there is always a chance to learn more). I look forward to planning that next big adventure with you.
