Learning Something New!

Who ever coined the phrase “time flies” sure had his finger on the pulse.

It is almost December my friends and according to the Canadian Geese, a lot more cold weather lies ahead.

We are looking down the barrel of another winter season, but let’s take first things first. We are looking down the barrel of another week…and another day. Let’s not wish our lives away praying for warmer weather.

As many of you know, some of my messages come easier than others. Today, I will return to a lesson I learned while watching a golf tournament a few years back…The Honda Golf Classic Golf Tournament.

The guy who won that particular year was a good guy. Ernie Els was his name. The lesson comes from the second place finisher. The home town favorite hit a snag on hole number 15 and his wheels fell off resulting in a fourth place finish.

Luke Donald passed along the following quote after sticking over $500,000 into his wallet for “losing”:

“I feel like I’m learning every week and getting better for it. You know, that’s a goal this year, to keep getting better.”

What’s your goal for the rest of this year, month, or week? Is it to keep on learning your business so you can keep getting better? I certainly hope so. If not, why not?

The only difference between your business and Luke Donald’s business is that he bashes around a ball with a stick while you meet people and try to help them have more fun living their lives. Have I stated this correctly?

Here is what I want you to consider this week and each week for the rest of the year.

“Try learning something new every day so you get better at what you do for as living. Keep getting better.”
