Custom Safaris by African Safari Company

Mike Nesbitt thinks the travel industry is about relationships. We happen to think he’s right.  For the past 34 years, Mike has been working in the travel industry, developing relationships with ground operators, tour companies and travel agents.  As the president of African Safari Company, Mike ensures that each client is treated as an individual and with the special attention that will ensure both the traveler and the travel agent are satisfied with his programs. Mike personally selects his safari operators, a job he says is too important to delegate to anyone but himself.  “Our goal is to provide clients with the most exciting, comfortable and hassle-free trip they will ever have” says Mike.  “We specialize in small groups and customer safaris, and we understand the value of a travel agency partnership.  That’s why we want to know each travel agent that works with us as a person, not as an ID number.

Though he now operates out of Seattle, Mike was born and raised in South Africa. African Safari Company has the distinction of being recommended by National Geographic.  The company host safaris  and tours in South Africa, Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, and Uganda.  “A safari is a high-point in many people’s travel dreams and we ensure that our journeys live up to the traveler’s highest expectations.  They return home with the kind of memories that never fade.”  African Safari Company accomplishes its goals with a willingness to customize itineraries and to work with each client’s wishes.  Some safaris are mobile camping while others involve luxury accommodations – “Everyone has a different idea of the perfect safari, and we find a way to make the ideal safari happen for them.”  The company uses the best local guides, trained naturalist and expert game spotters who know the terrain and can help ensure as much opportunity to see wildlife as possible.

Recently the company has begun to offer trips to Ecuador and Peru under their new ASC Expeditions division.  “These are exciting products, and we have developed them with the same attention to detail that we have brought to our Africa experiences.”
