Caravan Tours – a Proud Heritage

Travel agents that have used Caravan Tours will tell you that their clients come home happy.  In these days, that means alot. There is a great comfort in knowing that your clients are well cared for and are in good hands. Caravan Tours is one of the oldest tour companies in the United States. Caravan started selling tours in 1952, and has remained under the same ownership since inception.

Caravan’s first tour was a 40 day, 11 country European Grand Tour with transportation on a transatlantic ocean liner– all for $595. In fact, Caravan has many historic firsts: first European tour operator with air conditioned busses, first tour operator on transatlantic jets (operated by PanAm), first tour group to Dublin after WWII (received key from mayor).  More recently, Caravan was awarded the Sierra Madre Explora award for the company’s positive effect on Mexico’s Copper Canyon region!

That same tradition of excellence, innovation and affordability continues today with Caravan’s easy to sell tours. Caravan is perfect for value conscious and your quality conscious clients.

In 2009, Caravan’s programs in the Americas include Canada, USA, Mexico, Guatemala, and Costa Rica. Caravan stays at city center hotels, park lodges and scenic resorts. All are carefully chosen for their ambience, decor, service and location. All meals in Latin America are included. Many meals are included in the USA and Canada. Full, buffet, or deluxe continental breakfasts are included everywhere. In Latin America, bottled water is provided free on the motorcoach and purified water is provided at the meals.

Caravan offers comprehensive sightseeing with more actual visits and more included features. Local guides are chosen for their knowledge, and friendliness. Caravan’s professional Tour Director conduct every land tour from start to finish. They are fluent in English, experienced and fun. Free time is scheduled in great settings where there is no need to buy additional expensive activities. Caravan maintains a careful balance between single and two night stays so that each tour is both exciting and unhurried. Each day’s itinerary is well-paced with frequent scenic and rest stops. Caravan believes that shopping on a trip can be a vacation highlight. With that in mind, Caravan Tour Directors do not bring groups to over-priced shops in return for payments. With Caravan, your clients will have ample time and opportunity for great shopping and the freedom to choose where to shop.
