We have heard the adage about thinking smarter and not harder. We also have all heard that a picture is worth a thousand words. Well if a picture is worth a thousand, a video might be worth 2500! This week, I am trying something new. Let me know if you like it or not—leave a comment.
At the beginning of the year, I wrote about learning to use the tools at your disposal to make an impact on your income. I cited my own ignorance of the features of AWeber, my emailing service. I boned up on my knowledge and have been trying new things and they are working. How well? Well, let’s just say that I made over $1500 in commissions in under ten minutes!
This video demonstrates how I am now following up with my clients utilizing my email service based on their behavior. I wanted to come up with a cool acronym, but the best I could do was RICE. Review your results. Identify your targets. Create a buzz. Enjoy your profits. In essence, I first sent a targeted newsletter. After it had run its course, I looked at the reports and generated a new message targeted to people who clicked on a specific link. And finally, I got them to react.
My apologies for the sound issues, (I need to work on the execution a bit more if I am going to create more of these) but the message and steps are pretty clear.
So what was the bottom line? The new message was sent out on the 20th of this month and 4 days later, of the 73 who received it, I had an 87.6% open rate and a 32.9% click rate. Not too shabby, but then again, I already knew they were interested. But clicks and opens do not pay the bills.
As a direct result of that second message, I booked (money down, air reserved, invoiced) three single families into my August 2011 Beaches Turks & Caicos trip. Two were in suites in the Italian Village and one was in a suite in the Caribbean Village. Also from that second message, I now have an additional 7 families who are very interested and will go. I say “will” simply because they took the time to view the message and contact me.
My time spent was literally under 10 minutes to segment, create, and send. Not a bad return for a few minutes. What are some of the tricks you use to kick your marketing into high gear?
