Tropical Travelers — Taking the plunge

Since my last entry, I took the plunge and hired an SEO/Website design team to work their magic on my website. I’m very excited about this project and am looking forward to great things from this company. We are going to work together on the pieces of the puzzle to make The Tropical Travelers a more viable name in the leisure travel searches happening every day. Between Google Analytics, statistics and keyword optimization, my head is spinning a bit. However, I believe that when all is said and done, I’m going to come out with a fantastic website full of wonderful travel features that will certainly gain more business for my company.

This company is going to assist with implementing a blog on my site where my clients can submit reviews and photos from their travels. I firmly believe that visitors to my site are more inclined to look at (and draw conclusions from) pictures taken by clients and not form some marketing kit or an opinion from a relative  stranger.

I also brought in a new agent to assist with our growing Destination Wedding program. She herself had a destination wedding and will be a great asset to our clients. This is an exciting time for our agency as we implement some new strategies for growth.

I’ve been traveling extensively the past few months and attending many industry events. I feel staying in the loop with the suppliers, as well as visiting different destinations each year is what will keep us most current and give us a leg up on the big online competitors. Our clients want first hand information from our travels and it’s up to us to seek out these types of opportunities.

I returned from another amazing stay in Turks and Caicos last week and had a chance to visit several properties including the new Veranda, Regent Palms, The Somerset and Beaches. Next stop is Punta Cana to check out some of the new properties there.

As soon as my blog is set up, I plan on blogging about my travels so my clients can live vicariously through me and perhaps solidify some of their own dreams. Do you blog on your trips? Do you find it entices prospective clients to inquire about those experiences?
