Something New, Live Voyage Reports Launches This Week

This is the moment for the unveiling of a project that we’ve been secretly working on for the past few months: the launch of a new sister website under the banner, Live Voyage Reports.

Aaron Saunders, who runs From The Deck Chair, and I have collaborated for quite some time on Avid Cruiser’s sister site River Cruise Advisor, and now we’re excited to bring to our collective readership live reports from our voyages on the oceans and rivers of the world.

A new site, launching this week. Live Voyage Reports gives readers the ability to travel along with us, virtually, and to engage with us while we are on our voyages.

Live Voyage Reports gives readers the ability to travel along with us, virtually, and to engage with uswhile we are on our voyages.

The advantages?

  1. Readers can experience the thrill of the adventure. Each day of our voyage, we’ll present to the best of our abilities a sense of being there through narrative, photos and videos.
  2. We’ll be on board to answer your questions about the voyages we’re on, while we are on them. It’s a whole lot easier for us to tell you if a particular stateroom has a tub or an obstructed view if we can simply walk down the corridor and check for ourselves than it is trying to obtain that information back at home.
  3. The live voyage reports will be better organized than they are here on Avid Cruiser (which we once called “Virtual Voyages”) and on From The Deck Chair. You’ll not only be able to find current voyages and follow those each day on Live Voyage Reports but also easily navigate our past voyages, organized in an easy-to-consume format.

Five live voyage reports are already on the docket. The first one kicks off November 16, as I travel to the Galapagos Islands to explore that Darwinian land on the new Silver Galapagos.

We hope you’ll join us. Oh, and don’t forget to apply sunscreen. The sun is super intense around the equator.
