Helicopter and Dog Sled Tour – Glacier-carved mountains unfold in front of your eyes as you embark on your helicopter flight to the camp. As you land on the 20-30 feet of snow on Herbert Glacier, you will hear the 80 huskies barking their greeting, as they are as anxious to get moving as you are. You will set out on a 1 1/2 to 2-mile loop and will be able to stop for photos, as well as to change places with your companion, if you wish. Your total time on the snow is one hour that you will never forget!Taku Glacier Lodge Flight and Feast – Flying in a classic deHavilland seaplane, you’ll be mesmerized at the sight of five breathtaking glaciers flowing from the Juneau Icefield, deep blue crevasses, snowcapped mountains, and the lush Tongass National Forest. In a short while, a fabulous meal will be laid out for you and you can indulge as much as you wish. (Brunch will be served to guests on the 9 a.m. departure.) Drinks are chilled and served with actual glacier ice and special-recipe ginger cookies complete the meal.
Juneau Mendelhall Glacier Float Trip – The Mendenhall float trip, which begins on Mendenhall Lake just below the renowned glacier, is an exciting, yet mild, whitewater adventure that can be enjoyed by visitors of all ages. From the lake, just prior to the down river journey, rafters will enjoy incredible views of the 12-mile-long Mendenhall Glacier, which rises 150 feet above the water. Nearby towering peaks and icebergs floating in the lake make for great photographs.
