TRO’s Destination Guides
In an effort to ensure that each of you are getting the best possible use of TRO, we are going to spend this week exploring the tools you have available to you here – all without any cost whatsoever. The suppliers that advertise on TRO pay for your use – so give them some love! We also want to solicit your feedback and suggestions for improvement. Our mission at TRO is to enhance the life of the traditional travel professionals. Your input is important to us successfully fulfilling our mission.
When I had a travel agency, I thought a good set of destination guides was an important asset. However, the only alternatives were relatively expensive. With the margins that most travel agencies work under, every penny counted. Thus, in our original planning, TRO’s Destination Guides were our core asset. Today, we have over 750 Destination Guides. We add to them each quarter using the suggestions of travel agents. We obtained a special license that enables us to give the guides away to travel agents to send to their clients. Most of the destination guides provide information on the destination as well as helpful itinerary and sightseeing suggestions. They include photographs as well as upcoming events in the destination. Best of all – they are free to any professional travel agent.
Each of TRO’s Destination Guides can be emailed or printed by the travel agent for clients. You can easily attach your logo and contact information to the Destination Guide, so it comes private labeled to the client. Most agents use them either prospectively, to interest a client in a destination, or as a value-add to an upcoming trip. The Destination Guides also form a valuable research resource, however, for a brief overview of an unfamiliar destination and information on items like the best time to travel, weather conditions and the general ambiance of the locale.
TRO’s Video Library
Wouldn’t it be great if you could send a video to your clients with your own logo on it rather than a You Tube logo? You can. TRO is fast building a collection of videos of destinations for travel agent use. Like with our Destination Guides, travel agents can very easily private-label the videos with their agency logo and email the video to their clients. Email a video to yourself and you can then upload the link and the video to YouTube.
Note – In addition to the Video Library, we also have videos in our Where2TravelNext program which promotes the use of travel professionals. We will cover those videos later this week.
TRO’s license does not permit allowing agents to use its content on the internet. HOWEVER…TRO’s Where2TravelNext program does! Again, it’s free but does require an additional registration. Read all about it here!
