Pam Hirsch, Manager of the Independent Contractor Program for Travel Leaders Franchise Group

P11-821ecThere’s never a boring day for me! I’m always busy and always thinking of new ways to support our Travel Leaders Franchisee’s! My focus is to help them grow their business by supporting and developing programs and tools for their Host Agency program. I interface with multiple audiences that include existing Agency Owners, Managers, and Independent Contractors (ICs), as well as prospective ICs, industry Host experts, and vendors. Not to mention a smart and proactive internal team at TLFG! I am most proud of the newly launched Travel Leaders Hosts website which links ICs to Owners. I love being that middleman and seeing the success stories emerge!

As young as I feel, I hate to admit that I started in the travel industry 25 years ago, and have a diverse background and skill set that I draw from each day. I began in the incentive travel industry and saw the world as I worked incentive programs from Hawaii to Cairo, and destinations not so glamorous.

I owned a Travel Agency and started it from the ground up. Anyone who has done a startup knows what it takes to go through that life-changing process. What a wealth of knowledge and experience I garnished from being the “boss”: the good, the bad and everything in between! I truly can say to Owners that I understand what they are going through.

I spent many years selling travel franchises to agency owners across the country. A sales career is also an amazing experience that includes rejection, frustration, accomplishments, and rewards! Maybe that is why I like golf so much?

On a personal note, I have golfed for over 40 years and love the challenge that golf presents me each time I tee off. It makes me strategically think and gather my composure, to be aggressive but patient even on those tough days that I would rather quit. Life lessons and golf are very similar – the one thing I have learned is that you only have yourself to blame.

I love the travel industry because I have been able to see and experience many things and pass them on to my family as well, such as: scuba diving, skiing, snowmobiling, golfing, dancing, swimming, hiking, and immersing ourselves in cultures outside our own. What a great industry we are in; enjoy it!
