Today’s message concerns employees, and it is as serious as a migraine headache. The fact is that an organization needs everybody pulling in the same direction, and no one area of a business is more important than “marketing.”

I expect finance and operations to take exception to my position, but I am sticking to my statement. Your company will live or die by its marketing department. Therefore, it is imperative that everybody on your team understands and endorses this belief.

I have gone on record to say hundreds of times throughout the years, “Prospects can’t possibly decide to do business with you if they don’t know you are alive.” Your challenge doesn’t stop there. Once you make an appearance, you have to maintain visibility over time.

Visibility carries a great obligation along with it. If you are going to remind your target market that you are alive, you better lead with your best foot forward once they contact you. This is a marketing message that every employee must internalize. “Look at us. We are good.”
