Putting Out of Your Mind: Get Out Of Your Way

“Most golfers face a constant battle to stay out of their own way.”

Putting Out of Your Mind: Dr. Bob Rotella, page 62

Making Putts Routinely

If you practice as much as I am suggesting (all the time), then there will come a time when you just play the way you know how to play. You go with the normal flow of your body and you allow yourself to enjoy the journey.

Some putts will fall and others will miss by a sliver. Regardless, the key is to play.

My college football coach was known to say, “The hay is in the barn.” This was his way of reminding us that practice was over and it was time to have some fun.

Fun. Now there is an interesting concept: are you having fun? You should be. After all, helping people is fun and making money doing it is more fun.

So what is it that is stopping you? I know the answer to this question more often than not: It is you. Get out of your own way and allow yourself a little room to have some fun. Try it. I am betting that you will like it and even try it again.
