How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big: Kindness Reaps Rewards

“Adults are starved for a kind word.”

How To Fail At Almost Everything And Still Win Big: Scott Adams, page 107

I’m going to edit this quote slightly. I’ll say that all people are starving for a kind word.

And this presents an enormous opportunity for you and your business: start paying attention. Look for things that are going right in your world and that are worthy of acknowledgement. Then, do something very few people take the time to do. Applaud those people who deserve your applause.

Money aside, this is why celebrities act, athletes compete, and musicians play. The fact that they know they are skilled means very little in the long run. They need to hear that they are appreciated.

This could very well be your new marketing strategy. Looking for the good and letting people know that you have found it.

I would be remiss if I did not plug-in my Friday note card strategy. Once a week on Friday, take the time to write somebody in your world a handwritten note of appreciation. It will not only make you feel good, but in all reality, it will make their day. And at the end of a long arduous week, there is nothing more gratifying than knowing that you just made somebody’s day.
