Boomerang Escapes – Onward, with nearly no down-time

I can’t believe it is time for me to put pen to paper again or in this case fingers to keyboard. I blinked and it is the middle of September with the 4th quarter just around the corner. I’m just on the heels of two trips: my Amazing Aussie Adventure with Travel2 and my host conference in Charlotte with Gifted Travel Network. I haven’t even had time to do my follow ups or load my photos which is on my ever growing list of things to do.

I was fortunate that just before departing for my trip I had several trip requests come in, so I’ve been busy this week as I returned to New Jersey to make sure all were quoted and followed up with. The trip itself is always my favorite of the year. Being an Aussie Specialist, nothing helps my productivity more than being in destination. I already have 3 or more new inquiries, even a group or two possibly in the works, just from what I shared on social media while I was gone. The great thing besides the immersion was the meeting with suppliers from the various tours and tourism boards. At the end of any day, relationships are what matter. I also use the opportunity when I am on the FAMS and conference trips to network with my fellow travel professionals. We learn so much from one another and I have truly built a back-up network of support and knowledge through the years.

I’m off again for the Mark Travel Summit in Mexico in less than a week, where we will have educational classes, suppliers, and some resort inspections coupled with wellness activities each day. I’m excited about these because I find it very important to maintain a healthy lifestyle, and I try to encourage my clients and friends as well. You want to be able to do all the “fun” stuff on vacation, right?

After Mexico, I have a 3 day downtime before heading to one of my GIFTE business coaching events at the Club Med in Punta Cana. If I’m lucky, my photographer will be there and I can get my headshots updated in a beautiful setting while continuing to work on my marketing game strategy. I use my headshot as part of my web logo, email signature, and on my business cards. I find that people really like having the shot on the cards. The only thing is I keep changing my hair color, LOL. A big part of this GIFTE meeting will be diving hard into establishing our brand with emphasis on social media’s role. I know one thing that will be rolling out for me will be regular Facebook live postings. I used it a bit on this past Australia trip and noticed a definite increase in reach, views, and interactions. The ones while away were impromptu so while continuing to do those during travels, I plan to execute scheduled live events as well.

While the travel dust is settling and the brain is exploding with all this great new knowledge, I will continue to work on increasing the 4th quarter sales numbers. It appears the incentive I put in place for my ICs last month has encouraged a couple of them to get on their booking game. I’ve begun working on a new group strategy that will go into effect in 2017 and am putting the first itinerary together this week. Lots to do and places to go! See you next month!
