Iguazu Falls, recently named one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, has many unique features that make it so special. For one, it is split between both Brazil and Argentina which is something you do not often see. Another interesting aspect of Iguazu Falls is the story that surround the formation of the Falls. The local legend is that the Serpent God M’Boi wanted  Naipi, a beautiful woman who was set to marry the man she loved: Taruba, a warrior from a neighboring tribe. M’Boi forced the Guarani tribe to hand over the woman, but before he could take her she tried to escape down the river with Taruba.

M’Boi saw this, and got so angry that he grew in size and split the river in half; thus creating Iguazu Falls and condemning the two lovers to fall for all of eternity. Other myth says that he turned them into objects across the falls, so they could look upon each other every day but never touch or be close ever again.

On either side of Iguazu Falls you will find a park: the Iguazú National Park on the Argentine side, and the Iguacu National Park on the Brazilian side. These parks have both been declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and offer excellent views of the falls. At the Iguazú National Park you can actually go through one of the smaller falls of the Iguazu river  on a safari boat ride, which is a thrilling once in a lifetime experience. Or you can walk down some of the walkways over the falls. One of the most interesting parts of Iguazu Falls is The Devils Throat, which is where approximately half of the water from the falls flows. It is also the divide between Brazil and Argentina, and there are walkways to its corners.

Although Iguazu Falls are the main attraction between the two parks, there are still a plethora of beautiful wildlife, flora, and fauna to see on your trip to the falls. Having the opportunity to witness such breathtaking geographical beauty is not a chance to pass up, and thanks to Aerolíneas Argentinas you won’t have to.
