Explore the End of the World with Australis

Specializing in “End of the World” cruises that explore the pristine waterways of Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego at the bottom end of South America, Australis has 25 years of experience in operating expedition cruises. They were also named one of 2017’s Best Small-Ship Ocean Cruises by Travel + Leisure. Owned and operated by Chileans, their goal is providing Australis passengers from around the world with an unforgettable cruising experience.

australisIf you are looking for an adventure aboard a small ship, a cruise with Australis will not disappoint. Their vessels cater to about 200 passengers as most, and offer three, four, and seven night itineraries that span between April and September of ever year. Australis vessels sail through legendary passages that few other ships can travel to, and their Patagonia specific cruise tours travel between Chile and Argentina.

In its fleet, Australis currently has the Stella Australis. Constructed in 2010, the Stella Australis offers 100 cabins with a capacity of up to 210 people. Aboard the Stella Australis, passengers can see the awe-inspiring and breathtaking sights around them, while relaxing with a glass of wine on the deck. Spend an evening in one of the lounges, or get a kick start on your day in the onboard gym. With an array of fine cuisine to choose from and a laid back atmosphere the Stella Australis is a ship made to accommodate all different guests.

Debuting in 2018 is the Ventus Australis, the newest expedition ship commissioned by Australis. Latin for “Southern Wind,” the Ventus Australis is tailor made to explore Patagonia’s Southernmost waterways. Ventus will soon join Stella Australis as the only  passenger vessels that can venture through the narrow fjords of Tierra del Fuego and disembark at fabled Cape Horn. Australis is the only cruise line who’s passengers get to walk on Cape Horn (weather permitting) on a regular basis.

Another exciting quality that Australis offers to the cruising world is their care for the environment. They conduct their operations in a manner that minimizes any action that could endanger or harm the environment. Australis does this both on and off their vessels. From meeting with passengers to explain ways to preserve the virgin lands and hiring expedition guides with a plethora of important scientific knowledge about the areas, to using 4-stroke engines on their expedition boats to minimize pollution, Australis genuinely wants to preserve the beautiful environment they are showing their passengers.
