Tel Aviv, translated as ‘The Hill of Spring’, is a modern and fresh city in Israel. The city has a mix of beaches for relaxation and a vibrant, cosmopolitan cityscape. All of this, combined with its roots to Judaism creates a stark, yet familiar, connection to Jerusalem. Tel Aviv is chock full of cultural happenings, and Dan Hotels wants you know all about this great city.

Tel Aviv is the second most populated city in Israel, behind Jerusalem. It was founded in 1909 on the outskirts of the ancient port city of Jaffa. Since then, it has grown to encompass the neighboring port city as well. The city boasts a skyscrapers reaching for the sky, as well as smaller, vibrant neighborhoods. Of course, when on a getaway, beaches are usually foremost on the agenda. Lucky for most travelers, there are more beaches than you can visit in one vacation. The Metzitzim Beach is perfect for families, with shallow waters and the consistent eye of lifeguards on duty. As many people nowadays travel with a service animal, Hilton Dog Beach is where you can enjoy the day with your favorite canine partner. Hilton, or Top Sea, Beach is a bit more on the luxury side of the spectrum. You can get drinks and food delivered to your place on the sand. These beaches are only a few of dozens of fine beaches to relax away the day.

Israel has the highest number of museums per capita of any country, Tel Aviv has three of the largest. The Eretz Israel Museum has a collection of archaeology and history exhibits organized in a series of exhibition pavilions spread over its grounds. Each pavilion represents a different subject: glassware, ceramics, coins, copper, and more. The Eretz also has a planetarium. The Tel Aviv Museum of Art has a large collection of leading artists of the first half of the 20th century, along with modern art movements. For an interesting look at the story of the Jewish people, The Museum of the Jewish People at Beit Hatfutsot in Tel Aviv tells that story through exhibits that focus on the roots and nature of Jewish culture.

Tel Aviv is known as a 24-hour city. For those searching to party a bit while on vacation, Tel Aviv has them covered with a wide array of pubs, bars, clubs, and solid nightlife. People from the surrounding areas flock to Tel Aviv for the nightlife, so they shouldn’t have any trouble finding their own style of going out and enjoying life.
