My “2x2x10” Sales Strategy

One of the problems small businesses face on an ongoing basis is their lack of consistency. Their marketing efforts are stop and go. Their sales strategies are hit or miss. Their customer service levels are warm and cold.

Why this is the case can be explained quite easily. In the majority of cases, they have no system to follow. They are doing the best they can, whenever they can. They have put aside any commitment to following a step-by-step procedure and replaced it with putting out fires. Easy to understand, but counter-productive just the same.

Perhaps it is time for a challenge. Let me see if I can but a temporary stop to your haphazard approach and replace it with a few maneuvers designed to get you and your company back on track.

Here is the deal. Have everyone in your company/organization do this each and every day for the next 2 months:

Send two (2) letters to somebody… anybody. Your letters can go to clients, prospects, or leads from your morning newspaper. Without excuse or exception get into the habit of sending two letters each and every day.

These can be to clients to say thank-you. These can be to prospects to ask for an appointment, or these could be to suspects to simply inquire or ask for a current mailing address.

This assignment must be completed by 10 a.m. every morning, no excuses, no exceptions, by each person in your organization.

You run the numbers of letters and calls per day… per week… per month… per year… times the number of people in your company.

If you do this for 2 months, and I guarantee you will feel good about yourself and your bottom line will indicate something good is going on.

The original strategy called for four letters each day for four months by 10 am. (4x4x10) But I thought you might accept the challenge more readily if you just had to write two. Game on. It is your move.
