A Year-Round Paradise with Aerolineas Argentinas

In the foothills of the Anders lies a city surrounded by majestic peaks and natural forests. A city known for skiing and hiking, as well as its mild and windy summers. This small and charming city is known as San Carlos de Bariloche, otherwise known as simply Bariloche. Thanks to Aerolineas Argentinas, one of only three airlines that fly to Bariloche, for sponsoring today’s article.

Bariloche sits along the western border of Argentina, with the stunning Andes the only land between it and Chile. The city is inside of the Parque Nacional Nahuel Huapi, covering 2,720 sq. mi. This is the oldest national park in Argentina and is named from the lake which it surrounds. Bariloche seems removed from the rest of the world, tucked away in a natural paradise of mountains and trails. The traveler looking to get away from the business of the world will find it a great place to either kick back or take in mother nature at her finest.

The treks into forests and along trails is an experience that shouldn’t be missed. There are a variety of lengths offered: half-day, day, or multi-day. The Circuito Chico is a great example of this. It winds its way around glass-like surfaces of lakes, vistas offering jaw-dropping views, and other major landmarks. Cutting through amazing, this trail is 37-miles long, and can be done in full or part, on bike or foot. Starting in downtown Bariloche, this famous trail is must-see for the traveler. Also, starting from the Cerro Catedral ski resort is the Refugio Frey. This is probably the most hiked of all the trails. The traveler will witness streams and rivers as they pass though forests and mountains, to end up at a remote lagoon and lodge ringed by peaks.

Mountains, some with world-renowned slopes to ski, surround the town. The Cerro Catedral is the largest ski center in South America, as well as the Southern Hemisphere. This mountain is a very popular ski resort with hotels located at the base of it, and the best view of Lake Nahuel Huapi. The Cerro Campanario lifts above Bariloche for more 1,000 m. The traveler can either hike up or take a chairlift to the top, which provides an unbelievable view of the surrounding lakes, forests, waterfalls, and Bariloche’s other natural wonders. The Cerro Llao Llao, close to the famous Llao Llao Hotel, has a trail that leads through lush forests to wide vistas to a secluded lake perfect a brisk swim.

Bariloche is more than just a getaway, it’s more of another world. One with nature in its blood and a mind for the slower, calmer aspects of life. That’s why Aerolineas Argentinas wants the agent to know how appealing this destination will be to the traveler. Being one of the three airlines that fly to Bariloche, they’re ready to take care of the traveler along the way.
