What’s Your Virtual Networking Plan?

Conventions have ceased. Sales meetings have suspended. Coffee shop confabs have dispersed.

We’re all in danger of losing our networking knack!

Commerce continues with or without us. Victory will go to the versatile virtual networkers.

What’s your plan? You can wait for the cocktail parties to come back. Or, you can cleverly communicate with colleagues and acquaintances.

Emails don’t count (unless they’re an invitation to chat or an informational follow up). Phone calls are fine, but so much more can be done!

I suggest that now is the time for mini-masterminds and tiny think-tanks.

I’m betting that you’ve got a long list of ideas that need airing; issues that require aspect; viewpoints that need vetting.

When you can’t score a prized one-on-one with a person of interest or a potential prospect, refocus on authentic engagement. Relational time always beats transactional time.

Mini-masterminds and tiny think-tanks build integrity and trust. They resolve problems and invigorate friendships. I believe these forms of virtual networking can bring bigger benefits than the dozen business cards you collected at the last convention.

Mix and mingle. Meet and greet. Schmooze and share. Gather your thoughts and gather a group. Be a virtuous virtual networker!
