Does Your Traveler Know About Cancel for Any Reason Benefit?

More and more people are getting vaccinated across the United States each day, and countries across the globe are starting to reopen for American travelers who are vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus. As reported by the New York Times on April 25, 2021, tourists from America who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 will be able to visit the European Union over the summer. This is exciting news for all of us that have been waiting anxiously to begin traveling again.

As travel picks up, we expect the demand for travel protection plans to increase dramatically. Travel professionals should advise travelers to consider purchasing a travel protection plan as part of  their investment. Trawick’s Travel Protection plan treats COVID-19 as any other illness. The optional Cancel for Any Reason (CFAR) benefit can be added to our travel protection plans, at an added cost, providing enhanced protection. The CFAR benefit may offer a partial reimbursement of between 50% and 75%, depending on the plan chosen for prepaid, non-refundable trip costs when a traveler cancels their trip for a reason not listed on their policy. Based on the CFAR policy terms, this benefit is time-sensitive and must be purchased within the time frame listed on the plan—typically between 10- 21 days. To qualify for the CFAR benefit, the traveler must insure their entire trip cost and must cancel their trip in its entirety within the time frame listed on the policy.

Why is the CFAR benefit so important for your customers? The CFAR benefit provides an additional layer of protection in the event a traveler must cancel their trip for a non-covered reason. Do note that the CFAR benefit is not available on every travel protection plan on the market, nor available in every state. Trawick International offers the optional CFAR benefit on both our Safe Travelers Voyager and Safe Travels First Class Trip Protection plans.
