As you are all too aware, this is an unprecedented time in our industry. The COVID-19 pandemic is having an impact on the health of our loved ones, the business that each of us rely upon, the health of the global economy, and the way we live our daily lives. The global travel industry and our home destinations of Ireland and Britain have been disrupted in ways never seen before.

Like yours, our business has been dramatically impacted and our days and nights are dedicated to adjusting travel for disappointed travelers rather than helping them enjoy the trip of their dreams. We know how frustrating it is for your customers to have to postpone long-awaited trips.

Rest assured that our commitment to superior customer service is unwavering and our goal is to make the rebooking experience as stress-free as possible. We have shifted personnel to our contact center to reduce wait times for you. And we have set up Flexible Rebooking Policies (below) to provide clear guidelines to help educate your customers on the current status of tours and their options for re-accommodation.

While we have weathered challenges during our nearly 90 years in business, none has had the far- reaching business and social impacts of this one. Yet, we know that all of us in our industry, like the Irish themselves, are resilient. As goes the Irish proverb, Dá fhada an lá tagann an tráthnóna. "However long the day, evening will come." Travel Updates

Cancelled Departures
We have suspended the operation of departures to all destinations through May 31, 2020. Our customer service team will be working with all travel agents whose guests are affected by these cancellations to assist them in rebooking the land portion of travel.
At this time all tours beyond May 31, 2020 are operational, but we refresh our website frequently with the latest travel updates to provide you with the most current information.

Flexible Rebooking Policies
To make rebooking tours easy and flexible, CIE Tours is allowing guests booked for all cancelled tours as well as departures through June 30, 2020 to move travel dates easily, without incurring cancellation fees or land penalties*. The following guidelines apply:

  • Rebook Today with Confidence — Reschedule your clients’ trip for another date or tour selection in the future
    • CIE Tours will rebook your client on a future tour anytime in 2020 or 2021 with no cancellation fees or penalties*
    • For guests rebooking on the same tour series for a new departure date, any price increase for the future date will be waived
    • If the new trip selected is for a different tour series or destination and the price is higher, guest will be responsible for the difference
    • If the new date or new trip selected is at a lower price, no refund will be issued for the difference
  • Or Receive a Voucher for Future Travel — Don’t know yet which date or tour your clients want to move to?
    • Clients who want more time to select their future vacation will be provided with a CIE Travel Voucher equal to 100% of the land portion of the booking
    • CIE Travel Voucher value can be applied to any 2020 or 2021 departure to any of our destinations
    • CIE Travel Vouchers are transferable, allowing name changes on the land portion of the trip
    • Travel Vouchers issued as the result of an insurance claim and airline tickets cannot be issued in a new name.
  • Insurance Travels with the Client — If Trip Protection Insurance was purchased through CIE Tours, the policy will be transferable to the new trip.
