Episode 1: Star Trek

The original Star Trek series aired for the first time on September 8, 1966. The last episode aired a short three years later on June 3, 1969. However, the cultural phenomenon that the original series spawned is considerable.

The primary setting for the show, the "Starship Enterprise" and the iconic series were created by innovative visionary Gene Roddenberry.

Eight live-action television series and three animated series have sprung from the first, as well as thirteen featured films and various other media. The crew of the Enterprise had a mission to go boldly where no person has gone before.
