I Can’t Listen Anymore!

I recently invested one-hour of my time listening to an on-line webinar from a “professional.” I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.

It had nothing to do with the information being shared, although that definitely had something to do with it. The presenter was putting me to sleep. I wanted to run out the door screaming. Incredible.

Ladies and gentlemen: I believe whatever you do, and regardless of your industry, your competition may be putting your prospects and their customers to sleep. I am finding this experience hard to believe, but perhaps I should not be surprised at all. This person is a so-called expert, specialist, and popular consultant. Not good!

Today’s message is two-fold:

  • Don’t be boring. Get some exercise. Find some energy. Get enthused or you will have people blogging about you like I am today.
  • Don’t be boring. Read #1 again.

I suppose I could include a third point, but you will see that it sounds similar to points one and two.

Your success will have a lot to do with what you say, but it has more to do with how you communicate your message.

Please do everything in your power to internalize today’s message. What the world does not need is another boring person…in any field.

  1. OMG — So true, so true! Even voice mail messages should have some ‘bounce’ to them. Otherwise, your message may be mistaken for a ‘robocall’…!
Thanks for the reminder to not be boring, Mike!
